You want to make sure to use highest quality silica of about 85-89%. There are some offering it at a lower percentage. Make sure the label reads "Food Grade" and 89% Silica is considered 100% DE. It should look white to slightly off-white.

1. Natural Source of Silica

Food-grade diatomaceous earth is composed of approximately 85% silica. ^[3] This important, trace mineral is required by tendons, cartilage, blood vessels, and bones. ^[4]The nutrient even contributes to almost every vital organ, including the heart, liver, and lungs. Food was the primary source of naturally-occurring silica before modern farming practices depleted the soil. It is suggested that only 1/3 of the silica we need is available in natural, plant-based foods.

Because diatomaceous earth is a strong abrasive, it is often used as a toothpaste and facial exfoliator. You will also have more frequent and regular bowel movements.  For years I have believed that, when your intestines are blocked, just about everything imaginable that can go wrong, will go wrong. The Diatomaceous Earth benefits in the intestines can play a massive role healing.  Candida is a fungus that can consume the entire body. However, when we feed our bodies its favorite food (sugars, starches and antibiotics) we can have a Candida overgrowth.
