WashBar 100% Natural Flea Repellent helps in the control of fleas. It's an alternative for pet owners that don't want to use a topical flea treatment. Can also be used in between topical treatments, when the flea problem is intense and the recommended intervals between topical treatment applications preclude re-application.
It has been developed for use on dogs. We don't recommend our Flea Repellent for cats - they have a different metabolism to dogs (and groom themselves continuously). It is believed that essential oils accumulate in cats kidneys as toxins. Whilst we haven't seen any real evidence of this we would rather be conservative when it comes to your pet’s health.
Contains 100% Natural Ingredients non-toxic to dogs & their owners:
Neem Oil & essential oils of Cedarwood, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Thyme & Peppermint in a Sunflower Oil base. Packaged in a 50ml glass bottle with screw cap and slow drop dispenser.
Directions for Use:
Put 2 to 3 drops directly on the skin by parting the hair at the nape of the neck and at the base of the tail. Alternatively you can apply 3 to 4 drops on the inside of your dog’s collar and at the base of the tail. Regular brushing helps to distribute the product through the dog’s coat. In the unlikely event a dog has a reaction to this product apply to the collar only and discontinue use if reactions persist.
Apply once a month and after washing your dog - even during winter when there are no obvious signs of fleas. Once the flea season is underway apply at least once a week and after washing. This product is gentle and can be applied daily if required.
WashBar 100% Natural Flea Repellent should be used in conjunction with other non chemical flea control methods.
Each bottle contains approx 75 applications.
A bit more about the ingredients in WashBar 100% Natural Flea Repellent:
Cedarwood – we use Cedarwood harvested from Atlas Mountains in Morocco. It was used by the ancient Egyptians in embalming, perfumery, cosmetics and as an insect repellent. It has soothing and calming properties both on the mind and the skin - it helps relieve itchy skin.
Rosemary – has been used since ancient times, from ceremonial use by the Romans to use during the great plague in Britain to help ward off the disease. It is used today in many natural flea repellents, including a flea repellent rinse made by steeping the leaves of the plant in boiling water.
Lemongrass – we use Cymbopogon Flexuosus from East India. It is used in traditional Indian Medicine for its insecticidal properties and to treat fevers and disease. It is known to repel fleas, lice and ticks. It has deodorant properties (always a bonus for dogs) and can help ease stress and nervous exhaustion.
Thyme – we use Thymus Zygis farmed in USA. Thyme was used in ancient Greece by Hippocrates – known as the father of medicine, as part of his bag of medical plants and healing herbs. The Romans found a use for it to treat hangovers! It is often added into shampoo because it is believed by some that regular use can help reduce hair loss. It is used in many natural flea repellents including collars which repel fleas.
Peppermint – we use Piperita grown in India. Peppermint contains a high concentration of menthone – which is a natural pesticide. It also helps ease itching or irritation.
Neem Oil – ours is grown and refined in India. Neem oil is well known for its insecticide benefits. When fleas contact the oil they stop eating, breeding, laying eggs and drop off the dog to die.
Sunflower Oil – we use sunflower oil because we needed to blend the essential oils in a safe vegetable oil base. Sunflower oil has had a long history in cosmetic use, it is packed with vitamin E and is really nourishing on the skin.
